If Livecaller’s Caller ID isn’t showing up when calls come in, or something seems off with the identification, this article will help you troubleshoot common issues and get the feature working again.
Common Caller ID Issues and Solutions
- Livecaller isn’t identifying any calls: If no caller ID info appears at all for unknown callers:
- Check Settings Toggle: Go to Settings > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification and verify that Livecaller is toggled on. If it’s off, turn it on. If it was already on, try toggling it off and on again.
Toggle Livecaller Part 1 to the On position.
Then, toggle Livecaller Part 2 to the On position as well.
- Reorder Livecaller Part 2 if Necessary
Ensure Livecaller Part 2 is first and only in the list to get accurate, real-time caller information (having other apps in the Live Caller ID Lookup section might lead to app conflicts).
If it’s not at the top, tap Edit (in the upper-right corner), then drag Livecaller Part 2 to the first position.
- Re-open Livecaller: Launch the app after ensuring the toggle is on. Sometimes, the app needs to refresh its extension after changes.
- Internet Connection: Make sure your phone has data or Wi-Fi when calls come. Live lookup needs connectivity. If you had no signal or were on airplane mode, Livecaller can’t fetch names.
- Restart iPhone: A simple reboot can clear out any hiccups with the extension.
- Some calls are not identified with a name: It’s possible the number isn’t in our database yet. Livecaller’s community is huge, but not infallible. You can help by searching for that number later and perhaps reporting it. If it’s a known business and didn’t show, ensure your internet was stable. Also, if the caller hid their caller ID (blocking their number), then no app can identify that – those will show as “No Caller ID”.
- Wrong name shown for a number: If you notice that Livecaller showed a name that doesn’t match who the caller actually was (perhaps a recycled number or an outdated entry), you can correct it by reporting the number or contacting support
Further Assistance
If you’ve tried the above and Livecaller still isn’t identifying callers properly, consider these steps:
- Update Livecaller: Ensure you have the latest version from the App Store. A bug might have been fixed in an update.
- Contact Support: Within the Livecaller app or on our support website, send a message describing the issue. Perhaps there’s a known bug or a specific issue with your device model.
- Reinstall as Last Resort: If nothing works, you can delete Livecaller and reinstall it. Just remember to enable it again in settings. This can reset the integration and fix unknown issues.
User Tips:
Keep an eye on our updates: The Livecaller team is continually improving accuracy. New updates might expand the database or fix identification issues. Check the App Store release notes when updating to see any new capabilities.
