Manually blocking and unblocking numbers

Sometimes, you might want to block a specific number that isn’t automatically flagged as spam, or perhaps an individual who is bothering you. Livecaller (and your iPhone) lets you block numbers manually. In this article, we’ll show how to block or unblock numbers using Livecaller and review how it interacts with iPhone’s built-in block list.

Blocking a Number via Livecaller

To block a number manually in the Livecaller app:

1. Open the Block List: Launch Livecaller and tap on Manage Spam Filter. This is where manually blocked numbers are listed.
   
   

2. Add a number to block: Look for an “Add Number” button. Tapping this allows you to enter a phone number to block.
   
   
3. Enter the number: Type in the phone number you want to block. You can optionally suggest a name (and assist other users when they receive calls from this number).
   
   
4. Confirm block: Tap Done. The number will now appear in your blocked list within Livecaller. This means Livecaller will automatically block future calls from this number.
   
   

Unblocking a Number via Livecaller

If you blocked someone and later need to unblock them (maybe you blocked a friend in anger or a business that resolved an issue), you can reverse it:

1. Go to the Block List: In the Livecaller app, tap on Manage Spam Filter. The Block List section lists manually blocked numbers.
   
   
2. Find the number to unblock: Scroll through the list to locate the number or name you want to remove from blocking.
   
   
3. Unblock it: Swipe left on the number and tap Delete.
   
   
4. Result: The number is removed from Livecaller’s block list. Future calls from that number will no longer be blocked by Livecaller.
   
   

Common Questions:

• If I block someone in Livecaller, do they know? No. They have no direct way of knowing. They’ll just always reach your voicemail or not get through. They might figure out if they call from another number that you answer that number but not theirs, but there’s no message telling them they’re blocked.
  
  
• Is there a limit to how many numbers I can block? Livecaller itself likely doesn’t impose a strict limit (it could be thousands or more).

User Tips:

• Cleanup Occasionally: Check your blocked list once in a while. Maybe some old blocked numbers are no longer an issue (that ex-friend, or a business that resolved your complaint). You can unclutter the list by removing those. No harm in leaving them, though, if you prefer.
