We understand that some individuals prefer not to have their name or number appear in any caller ID apps. Livecaller respects your choice. If you’d like to opt-out and have your information removed from our global lookup database, follow the steps in this article.
What Does Opting Out Do?
Opting out will ensure that when someone using Livecaller (or Sync.me services) looks up your phone number, they will not get any personal name or info – it will appear as unavailable. Essentially, we purge or flag your number in our database so it’s not included in any future identification queries.
(This will not prevent your number from being labeled as “Spam” if it has been reported as spam by many users – the opt-out is about your personal identification details. If you’re getting spam-labeled and you’re not a spammer, you might need to contact support separately to resolve that issue. Opt-out is mainly for regular folks who don’t want to be listed.)
How to Opt-Out (Remove Your Info)
-
Visit the Opt-Out page: The quickest way is via our website. Go to the official Livecaller opt-out page: https://livecallerid.com/opt-out
-
Fill in the required details: On the opt-out form, you’ll need to provide:
-
Your phone number (the one you want removed, including country code).
-
Your name (this helps us locate the correct listing to remove – it should be the name that might be appearing on caller ID).
-
Your email address (for confirmation purposes – we may send a confirmation that the removal request was received or completed). There might also be a CAPTCHA or security check to ensure the request is genuine.
-
Your phone number (the one you want removed, including country code).
-
Submit the request: Double-check the information and hit the Submit/Send button on the form. You should see a confirmation message on the page.
-
Verification email: You may receive an email to verify your request (check your spam folder just in case).
- Wait for processing: It usually doesn’t take long (up to 24 hours). After that, your number should no longer show any name in Livecaller’s results. If someone searches it, it will look like a generic unknown number.
If for some reason you still see your info after that time, reach out to Livecaller support. Provide the details of your request (maybe the date you submitted, your number, etc.) and we will follow up to ensure it’s removed. It’s rare that it fails, but we’re here to help.
Important Notes
- Opt-out does not block your number from being identified as spam if it is legitimately used for spam. (Different issue: for example, if you acquired a number that a spammer used to own, it might have a bad reputation. You can contact support to clarify in such cases.)
Common Questions:
If I opt out, can I still use Livecaller to get caller ID from others? Absolutely! Opting out doesn’t disable the app for you. It only removes your info from our output. You can still have Livecaller installed, identify incoming calls, use all features. You’re basically becoming a private number in our system, while still benefiting from everyone else’s data. Many people do this for privacy balance.
